But where does the whole pinching thing originate from?
It's an American tradition. Supposedly it's to warn you and remind you that leprechauns pinch anyone they can see. But green is invisible to the leprechauns. So if someone pinches you, it's to remind you that you should be wearing green.
Interesting to note that if you do pinch someone and they are indeed wearing green, they can pinch you 10 times in repercussion.
So don't jump to conclusions and pinch carelessly. That person just may be wearing green socks or underwear even.
If you're planning to go out for dinner, drinks, or an event of some kind on St. Patrick's Day, don't forget to wear your green.
Perhaps you want a unique costume accessory that will be different from a typical green shirt.
Shamrock contact lenses are the way to go.
The shamrock, a 3-leaved plant, is often used to symbolize and celebrate St. Patrick's Day on March 17th.
Have a great St. Patrick's Day!
